    AAF Editors Attended the LACQUA 2016

    Jointly hosted by the Latin American & Caribbean Chapter of World Aquaculture Society, and Ministry of Production Peru, the Latin American & Caribbean Aquaculture 2016 (LACQUA 2016) was held from November 28 to December 1 in Lima, Peru. LACQUA 2016 features technical sessions and workshops covering nearly all aspects of aquaculture around the world. There are international professionals in attendance to present the latest research and investigations on technical and practical aspects of aquaculture. Nearly 500 guests, including the representatives of the Latin American & Caribbean countries, the researchers from other area of the world, and 32 exhibitors from all over the world in the LACQUA 2016.


    Dr. Yan Liu and Mr. Li Huang, the editors of Aquaculture and Fisheries, , attended the LACQUA 2016 as exhibitors in the trade show. They introduced the Aquaculture and Fisheries, a new launched academic journal founded by Chinese Society of Fisheries, Shanghai Ocean University and Science Press. The participants expressed strong interests and enthusiasm to the AAF. It may be the first time that a Chinese academic journal in English version focusing on aquaculture and fisheries appeared in the land of South America.


    In additional, Dr. Juan Pablo Lazo, the current president of the World Aquaculture Society and former president of the Latin American & Caribbean Chapter, made an opening statement on behalf of the World Aquaculture Society, pointing out that the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture will play an important role in the global food security and economic growth. For the benefit of the present and future generations, we should participate in and contribute to the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture.
